It's just past the halfway point of the holidays and it's been a lot, but although tight, we have fared better than I feared. Our community has rallied around and a local cafe has had free breakfasts and lunches for children along with activities in the cafe throughout the holidays, no questions asked and we've made good use of it. A group of Mums recently set up a clothing and school uniform swap shop, which has been a godsend with three young boys and two teens. My partner and I have to split the holidays with our children's other parents which can sometimes be challenging but without jinxing it, it has been smoother than anticipated this year and my partner is due to be taking his three boys on holiday to his parents in Wales tomorrow. I'll miss them all loads but I can't help but be a little relived our budget isn't overstretched next week and I can get my Son some new shirts for school with four less people to feed.
